What is Doryx?
Doryx (doxycycline) is an antibiotic used against a variety of bacterial infections. It is a member of the tetracycline antibiotics group of drugs. Doryx is prescribed to treat everything from fevers caused by lice, ticks and fleas to urinary tract infections, infections of the eye (trachoma), and gonococcal infections. It is even approved for treatment of inhaled anthrax. Doryx is used in combination with other medications to treat severe acne and severe diarrhea caused by a parasitic infection. It may also be taken to prevent malaria for up to 4 months duration.
